HISTORIC SCHOOLS RESTORATION PROJECT

Towards Centres of Cultural and Educational Excellence

Home Schools Alumni Speeches ZK Matthews Annual Reports

Colloquium - 14 August 2008

Keynote Speaker is Dr Mamphela Ramphele. The goal of the recently launched Historic Schools Restoration Project is the restoration of under-resourced secondary schools of historical significance into sustainable centres of cultural and educational excellence. In order to achieve this goal an organisational model for schools is needed that will provide government support and at the same time allow creativity necessary for each of these schools to develop according to its own paritcular local context. This colloquium will explore this idea.
